What better way to enjoy summer than with fun-filled and healthy days at L’Esport Suma? At Gasol Foundation we believe that sport-based activity is one of the best ways for young people to enjoy themselves, and for that reason we work to teach them how to practice sports in a fun and responsible manner.
During the month of July, the boys and girls of L’Esport Suma in Badalona were able to learn about and work to improve their skills in four very different sports: basketball, soccer, volleyball and pichi (similar to baseball). They took part in practice sessions and games which encouraged teamwork and which always ended with water games and activities to fight the heat. They also went on family outings to the Cerdanyola Park and the Olympic Museum, as well as took part in family sport days.
WHAT’S THE BEST WAY TO ENSURE THAT OUR CHILDREN LEAD ACTIVE AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLES?
At Gasol Foundation we believe that the best way to encourage children to be healthy and active is to surround them with healthy and active adults. Setting a good example is the best way to positively influence others! That’s why during our l’Esport Suma summer camp in Badalona we focused on organizing so many activities for children and adults to take part in together.
This summer, we also wanted to encourage teenagers in Badalona to practice sports and physical activity together. For this reason, we organized soccer and basketball games two afternoons per week in July. This initiative was a great success and it allowed us to work with and meet new young people, as well as promote the responsible, educational, participatory and equal practice of sports in a healthy environment.
Through these activities, Gasol Foundation, in collaboration with Casal dels Infants, seeks to promote an inclusive sports environment in which anyone is free to participate, regardless of their physical abilities, with the help of special support tools.
