Energy – Gasol Foundation

ENERGY Program

ENERGY is a Gasol Foundation program, in partnership with YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles, that provides a unique, interactive, and educational Summer Day Camp experience. ENERGY includes interactive games each day and workshops at the end of each week to reinforce healthy habits through the four planets: sports and physical activity, healthy eating, sleep quality, and emotional well-being.


  • What? ENERGY is a project with the goal of promoting healthy habits to children participating in the YMCA summer day camps.
  • Who? It is addressed to 200 children aged 5-13 + their families.
  • Why? This project aims to evaluate the impact this initiative has on the children’s lifestyles, as well as produce a positive impact on these psychosocial predictors of behavioral changes around the four planets of The Healthy Galaxy.
  • How? By discovering the Healthy Galaxy throughout many different activities and also a workshop at the end of the week.
  • When? For 8 weeks during the summer.
  • Where? Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA, Weingart YMCA Wellness and Aquatic Center, Southeast Rio Vista YMCA, and Anderson Munger Family YMCA.
