‘Vida! Gardening’: The School year is half over! Let’s check in

The inaugural year of our first Vida! Garden Experience – an interdisciplinary outdoor garden-based enrichment opportunity for students – is DSC_1226half over and the garden is flourishing!  Though it’s been a tough year for vegetation in California due to a record-setting drought and subsequent lack of natural rain water – the fruits and vegetables planted by our Roosevelt High School Vida! Garden Students have continued to find a way to thrive.  We love how resilient plants can be when given good time and care!

Pau Gasol is excited to visit the foundation’s first Vida! Garden in January during his trip to Los Angeles to play the Lakers and the Clippers.  Stay tuned for a few pictures of his visit!  A little birdie told us that he’s looking forward to doing a few fruit and veggie taste tests!
